A solo for the Adelaide Fringe, Dances for a Small Stage. This work was based around the themes
of connection and humanity, coming together and putting aside out differences. I collaborated with
musician Leah Blankendaal to make this work come to life through sound, movement, and
audience participation.
The solo was then developed with four dances for ADT’s Rough Draft, with Dion Zisos producing
and performing the music.
Focusing on our connection with the world and our humanity. Through common tasks and actions,
every day ritual and shared experience, we are more than the sum of our differences.
Sound sources from the physical world hold space in the other: connecting the tangible with the
immaterial. Base needs for clean water and air are drivers through which we can recognise a
deeper connection with each other.
